9/20-24/18. We left cascade locks and climbed out of the Columbia River Gorge about 4000 feet. It was warm to start with but the next few days progress to be cool and cloudy. The forest was thick and beautiful and like other The forest was thick with western hemlocks and ferns. We able to view Mount Adams as we hiked around around it but the view was obscured by clouds. Smoke was minimal. A highlight of the trip for me was to see my first wolverine as it ran across the trail early in the morning.
We hiked into Trout Lake for resupply. At this point Brian departed to head back to California. It was good to have his company. I took off and headed up the trail join Boy Scout one and Boy Scout two with their dad. It was cold and windy.
Glad you had Brian with you for a bit. How old are Boy Scout one and two? How far did their dad hike?
